- The history of AT & T starts with the invention of the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. After Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, he and his financial supporters, Gardiner Hubbard and Thomas Sanders established Bell Telephone Company in 1877.
- In 1885, AT & T was incorporated as a subsidiary of Bell Telephone Company to establish the long-distance telephone network.
- In 1889, AT & T acquired the Bell and became the parent company .
