What is the full form of JNU?

JNU: Jawaharlal Nehru University

JNU stands for Jawaharlal Nehru University. It is a reputed public central university of India that is located in New Delhi. It was established in 1969 by an act of parliament and was named after Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. The current chancellor of JNU as of Nov. 2020 is Shri. Vijay Kumar Saraswat.

JNU is the top university in India. It is ranked first in India by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In 2017, JNU was awarded the Best University Award by President of India.

The university offers admission to over 100 courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across 11 streams. The total number of seats is around 1400 and total faculty is over 400. It has an excellent teacher-student ratio of 1:10 and was the first the university to provide courses in foreign languages in an integrated five year MA programme.

JNU also work in collaboration with various universities across the world in research projects, conferences and publications. Furthermore, it also has MoUs with International and national universities and exchanges faculty and students with them regularly.

Being a reputed university, it also provides spacious, well furnished. Apart from stay and food, the hostels offer various recreational facilities for students like indoor games, health club, TV room, etc.

JNU releases eligibility criteria along with the admission notification in online mode at nta.jnu.in. The candidates who wish to appear in the entrance examination of JNUEE may check the eligibility criteria for the course they want to apply. Candidates may not get a seat even after clearing the entrance exam if they don't fulfil the eligibility criteria.

The candidates who want to register for JNU entrance exam 2020 can follow the following steps for registration:

1. Visit the website of National Testing Agency and click the link of JNUEE and JNU CEEN 2020 and click on 'Fill Application Form for JNUEE 2020. Then create a login ID and you will be provided with application number for JNU admission.
2. Fill information in the application form of JNUEE admission
3. Upload documents
4. Pay JNUEE application fee

This admission form cannot be submitted offline. The candidates can apply for one or more courses at JNU and have to pay a fee for each course separately.
